Practical learning, mentoring and entrepreneurship for young people aged 12+.

Practical skills activity from TYFI's 2026 pilot.
The Youth Focus & Insight Initiative is a youth-focused organisation committed to helping young people develop the practical skills, confidence, knowledge and mindset they need to navigate an ever-changing world.
We believe young people thrive when they have opportunities to learn beyond the classroom, explore their potential, build positive relationships and make informed decisions about their future.
Our programmes are designed primarily for young people aged 12 and above. We support participants with different backgrounds, abilities, interests and aspirations, including students, out-of-school young people and youth groups.
Depending on the programme, we may also work with schools, educators, parents and communities to create stronger support around each young person. Eligibility and age requirements are defined separately for every activity.
We create practical, inclusive and age-appropriate learning experiences that encourage young people to participate, practise, reflect and improve.
Our work is delivered with appropriate safeguarding, consent and responsible handling of participant information. For school-based activities, we seek the necessary approvals and work alongside education authorities, school leaders, families and community partners.
Four connected pillars help young people build practical capability, confidence and direction.

Skill training at The Youth Focus & Insight Initiative combines future-ready skills with hands-on skills. We believe young people benefit from learning that connects knowledge with practical application.
Our training focuses on skills that can be used in everyday life, education, future employment, enterprise and community activities.

Our mentoring programme provides participants with one-to-one support from a role model, giving young people a safe and supportive space to discuss aspirations, challenges, interests and development goals.
Mentors help participants identify strengths, explore opportunities, set realistic goals and develop strategies for overcoming barriers.

Our entrepreneurship programme encourages participants to take initiative, create solutions and develop entrepreneurial thinking.
Participants identify community needs, generate ideas, consider different solutions and turn ideas into practical projects.

Our lifelong learning activities encourage curiosity, creativity, connection and continued personal development beyond a single course or qualification.
Participants can explore reading, writing, arts, communication, teamwork, cultural interests and community participation.
